Emergency Information and Contacts
The NOAA Extreme Weather Information Sheet (NEWIS) for each state, including Texas, is updated each year with current information, phone numbers, and websites relevant to weather emergencies (Figure 3-1).
This sheet is available for download online.
The Texas Division of Emergency Management website also an important source of information. The best time to contact them is not during an emergency, but during the planning and preparing phase of emergency preparedness. For general emergency information, contact your local Office of Emergency Management.
